There are numerous opportunities for graduate students as well as undergraduate students specializing in Technical Writing to learn about the tools used in the industry by enrolling for courses offered in the MSTC Program. Students can also opt for electives offered by other departments. These electives are not entirely technical communication tool-oriented but will help technical communication students enhance their multimedia-based tools knowledge. 

Typically, the courses offered in Fall are not offered in Spring. But, there are a few courses that are offered in both semesters. The details of such courses can be found in both, Courses offered in Fall as well as Courses offered in Spring section of this website. 

When interviews were conducted with some of the Technical Documentation teams in companies in and around the RTP area, their managers unanimously agreed to the fact that one of the major expectations they have from graduate students is a basic knowledge in technical writing tools.
